Solar- Hot Water System

Solar Thermal Water Heating is a simple, reliable and cost effective technology that harnesses the sun’s energy to provide for hot water needs of commercial as well as residential. Solar Hot water has many applications such as bathing, Space Heating, washing, Boiler pre feed water etc. India has been a pioneer in using solar concentrating technologies for the purpose of Hot Water.

Heat and infrared radiation (IR) are produced when short wave radiation light hits a collector’s absorber, which is then trapped inside the collector. Fluid, usually water, in contact with the absorber collects the trapped heat to transfer it to storage.

A solar water heater consists of a collector to collect solar energy and an insulated storage tank to store hot water. The solar energy incident on the absorber panel coated with selected coating transfers. The water passing through the risers get heated up and are delivered the storage tank. The re-circulation of the same water through absorber panel in the collector raises the temperature to 80 C (Maximum) in a good sunny day. The total system with solar collector, storage tank and pipelines is called solar hot water system.

Solar air conditioning is simply a system of cooling and heating that utilizes Solar Power rather than electricity. This process can be done through Passive Solar, solar thermal energy conversion and photovoltaic conversion. Centralized solar air conditioning powered by solar system can substantially reduce the cost of energy bill. Air conditioning is essential for maintaining thermal comfort in indoor environments, particularly for hot and humid climates

  • Project Features
Project Features
  • • Around 60 deg. – 80 deg. C temperatures can be attained depending on solar radiation, weather conditions and solar collector system efficiency.
  • • Hot water for homes, hostels, hotels, hospitals, restaurants, dairies, industries etc.
  • • SWH system generates hot water on clear sunny days (maximum), partially clouded (moderate) but not in rainy or heavy overcast day.
  • • Stainless Steel is used for small tanks whereas Mild Steel tanks with anticorrosion coating inside are used for large tanks.
